Um I live in SC and I go to a pretty well known private-school...
think that should do it. but yea please dont come with posts saying that im stupid. i know this isnt nearly as good as most on CC but its not like I'm gonna end up at a community college
Thanks guys

Looks decent to me, and you’re not going to let anyone put you down apparently, so apply regardless of your perceived chance?

Remember to get knowledgeable people to read your admissions essay. Also sign up for another SAT or ACT and study with prep books.

^slight reach. should try to improve SAT/ACT

SAT is reeaaally holding you back.

oh yea haha guess i forgot to mention im retaking the SAT in october. my CR has improved a lot, i’ve been getting 690-720s on practice test in my BB, for math I got Gruber’s math workbook and I’m gonna work through it and see where I am afterwards. And I’ve never really studied for writing so we’ll just see how that goes next time. Also forgot to mention 2 things for my ECs. I’ve been working as a cashier since April and I tutor algebra and spanish. when i first started working I was a bagger and then they promoted me to cashier. is that gonna look good on the college app?

I would focus on getting your math score up more than anything. 620 is just way too low for Georgia Tech. Have you tried the ACT?

Yes, virtually any ECs you have will benefit you.

nah I haven’t tried the act. and yea, I’m trying to get all my scores up at least 70-80 each…I did it last time and I hope I can do it again. Wrotong I’m not really worried about though. I’ve been practicing math and CR everyday. Just one question though. GT’s early action is due october 1st and that’s when I take my sat. can I just send them those scores whenever I get them or are they just gonna go off of what I got this time? Probably a noob question

^Yes, they will see your October 1 SAT. But when you register for the test, you need to select Ga Tech as one of your four free score reports. That way, they get the scores in time to consider them.

Hmm…I have a question about that. Um, on my other sats I never remembered doing that. I might have done it but am not remembering right now but I don’t think I’ve ever done that. Is that one of the things you do before you start the test?

Oh wait nevermind I just reread your post. I’ll get my mom to register me for my sat tonight and make sure we do that. Sat’s aside, you think my gpa is sorta on level with their average? Or should I try super hard to bump it to a 3.7 or higher?

You should be trying really hard to get straight A’s anyway. There are so many people applying with 4.0s that you’re already at a disadvantage.

GT doesnt have “Early Action”. They have Oct 1st and Nov 1st (both get decisions in Mid-december) and Jan 10th (Regular decision beofer April 1st)

Thank you sir for that bit of information
