I’ll be honest - those all range from high match to reaches IMO. Do you have other schools on your list? I think you need a more balance list with some matches and safeties as your school is a bit top heavy right now.

Did you apply to Questbridge?

@doschicos
I have safeties and matches in mind, I just wanted to know whether the schools I mentioned were matches, high matches, low reaches, reaches or high reaches for me!
Sorry for the misunderstanding lol, and yes I plan to apply to quest bridge. With that in mind, what are your thoughts?

They are all on the reachy to high match side IMO. Your stats are solid but they are selective schools all around. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll have some success with some.

I’d add some schools ranked approx 25 to 50 in US News LACs. You may get into one of the schools you’ve mentioned, but it’s good to have backups. Skidmore, Conn Coll, Union, Sarah Lawrence, Wheaton (Mass)–lots of good schools to consider. All these colleges will give your app a good look, such as your improved junior year and what your HS offered.

OP is low income. Sarah Lawrence is not good for that reason. Dickinson is a good match and they give you good need based aid.

@Pokeman1 Lafayette is considerably easier to get into than the others you mentioned. If you are a girl, admit rate is 35%.

That said, you basically have the “chance” that you can find in the admissions statistics, which may be as low as 10% or so. You can find the stats at College Navigator and in each school’s Common Data Set (CDS). The CDS will also tell you what the college looks at when deciding who gets in. Some schools don’t care about first gen, for instance, or it is given only minor weight.

Nobody can read anything more into it. Yes you have some “hooks” but you may also have some UN-hooks like being an overrepresented minority, living in the Northeast, etc.

Know that these schools are reaches for anybody. Apply to them if you feel they are a good school for you, knowing you have only a remote chance of acceptance, but hey, you might get lucky.

@alooknac Do you think I am under qualified in comparison to other applicants of these colleges? Because I’m not sure whether, when you said my chance is the one I find in the admissions statistics, you mean that I am under qualified or just that the 10% range is the chance for all applicants, because of the selectivity of the school. Thanks!
