Hello, I am a senior who will be attending UTD next fall for Biology. However I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on how my profile looks for the AES awards.

Gpa is 4.1/5
Class rank is 220/594
Leadership positions:treasurer of chess club 1 year, VP of Latin club 2 years, soccer manager 1 year
Sports- JV soccer 2 years
ECS- judged a writing UIL competition for PISD
120+ hours volunteering for kids ministry at my church
Work: have had job since end of summer senior year, 3-4 month, working 20-25 hours per week during school.

Might be able to get something if you play up the Hispanic heritage.

Would just puttng Hispanic on my applicantion be enough? Or would I have to explain how being Hispanic affects me?

That’s probably enough. There’s a push to get more Hispanic students into UTD so you’re in luck. As for essay, hard to tell. Most likely they won’t read it, but it sure can’t hurt if well-written.
