Chance for BA/MD Program

Hi, here are my stats:

GPA: 3.73(UW) 4.41 (W)
SAT: 2120 (780Math 570Reading 730 Writing 10 essay)
628 Volunteer hours at hospital
Played Soccer for school team
National Honors Society
Math Honors Society
Science Honors Society
Spanish Honors Society
School Ambassador

Not exactly sure which BA/MDs you’re applying for, but your stats alone don’t make you very competitive.

Do you know any programs that are less competitive that can fit my stats?
What else can i do to improve, other than GPA?

I don’t think you’ll be getting into BA/MD programs with a 530 CR. What about subject tests?

Just go somewhere cheap for premed.

Can you give more details? Class rank, class load etc.
If you’re really intent on doing dual degree, look into the less competitive ba/md programs, such as Siena/Albany. Mind you, it’s still pretty hard, but more doable than others

Chance me back??

I’d also add that some of the Drexel programs including the 8 year ones or some of Temple’s programs are easier to get into, but it’s tough with a 570 CR. Since they mainly look at CR + Math, you’ll want to take it again.

VCU has a guaranteed admissions program that you might want to look into: https://www.pubapps.vcu.edu/honors/guaranteed/index.html</a>
Minimums for applying are 1910 in SAT and 3.5 unweighted GPA.

Don’t go by those “minimums”. Those are put so that URMs aren’t discouraged from applying. If you’re not a URM, you’re not going to be considered with those stats.

You have a 1350 M+CR. That isn’t likely high enough for a BS/MD program. That M+CR score is about an ACT 30. I haven’t seen many non-URM ACT 30s get accepted to BS/MD programs. Usually they have at least an ACT 33 and often higher.

Keep in mind that BS/MD admittance is allowing you to skip the normal MD app process. That strongly suggests that the admitted students’ stats are so strong that the school suspects that their college stats would have been strong enough to be admitted in the normal fashion. They’re not likely going to admit someone whose stats are kind of “borderline” and would be less likely to have a strong undergrad GPA and strong MCAT score.
