Accept/Waitlist/Denied for University of Pennsylvania (ED) , Georgetown University, University of Pittsburgh, University of Virginia, Boston College, Penn State, Villanova

helpless bump

Could really use some advice…bump

please help

Finding external scholarships to apply for is always a good thing.

Your stats/extracurriculars pass the eye test; I think you’ve done enough work to merit acceptance at any of the colleges you’ve listed, though that may ultimately depend on how good your essays are. Significant outside work (i.e. research, national awards, etc.) will help boost your application.

University of Pennsylvania (ED): reject
Georgetown University: waitlist
University of Pittsburgh: accept
University of Virginia: waitlist
Boston College, Penn State, Villanova: all accept

You still have this summer to boost your application/get started on essays, so I suggest you make the most of it.

(* Note that the above decisions are pretty arbitrary, and in no way fully reflect your ability to get into the schools of your choice. Good luck! *)

University of Pennsylvania (ED) - mid-reach, (your GPA is slightly low for any school in the Ivy League, however your test scores and EC’s are quite good)
Georgetown University - low reach, high match
University of Virginia - high match (although OOS can be weird)
Boston College - match
University of Pittsburgh - safety
Penn State - safety
Villanova - safety

Thank you for your responses. Will being a male give me and advantage? Since there are only 10% male nurses

I’d say definite accept at penn state and villanova, reach for Upenn/Georgetown, and a maybe for the rest.

@IVCUSA11‌ Even for Pitt?

University of Pennsylvania (ED): low reach/reach
Georgetown University: low reach
University of Pittsburgh: match
University of Virginia: high match
Boston College: match
Penn State: match
Villanova: match
Are you doing anything nursing related this summer? If not, try to get some internships at a local hospital, or just shadowing/volunteering at one to show your interest in that field

Penn (ED): waitlisted
Georgetown: waitlisted
UPitt: accepted
UVA: accepted
BC: accepted
Penn State: accepted
