I heard it is generally very difficult to get into Brown PLME and successful applicants may have quite high stats.

The year before DS’s year, a girl who got into two of HYPSM did not get into Brown PLME (and neither to other top BS/MD programs at NW and Rice-Baylor.) I think her stats was higher than yours - unless your high school is one of those high power private prep school. (Although I do not know the details, the top 2-3 students from her high school usually takes tons of IB classes, has about 2300 SAT-1, and almost all SAT 2’s are 800. An exception may be a foreign language SAT 2.)

I think it is an uphill battle for everyone.

I do not know of the other BS/MD program.

Your stats look ok for Brown, but not anything standout. If the hospital volunteering is your only medical-related EC, you won’t be a strong PLME candidate.
