You definitley should retake your SAT Subject test, but overall I think you have a greate chance.

thanks seatlle.

bump any other thoughts?

My S is a rising senior at CMU and his stats are amazingly similar to yours. The biggest difference is he had 800 Math SAT. His Math IIC was slightly lower and Physics slightly higher. He was accepted to CIT (all majors - CMU can restrict ECE), H&SS, MCS. He visited 2x - once he visited neighbor who was attending and the second time he did a sleeping bag weekend). The sleeping bag weekend sold him on CMU. Visit if you can.

I wouldn’t worry about the Physics SATII, I think you can put more time into the AP’s. That will help you with placing out of some classes and maybe even allow you to finish early.

^Hmmm…I might have to politely disagree about the Physics SATII score. I think that a 580 could really be a red flag, especially given that the Physics SATII has an extremely generous curve. Even just pushing it up to 600 could help, I think. It’s not that I personally think it’s so detrimental, but with so many great applicants, even just one questionable score can be cause for a waitlist/rejection.

Unless I read it wrong isn’t it?

780 Math II
710 Physics
580 Math I
660 WH
710 U.S

yeah, will the 580 in Math I hurt me even though i got a 780 in math II? Im probably going to retake physics btw maybe u.s as well

bump 10 char. should i retake the 710 in physics?

I got a 590 on physics and got into CIT (though I did have to put in the application that my physics teacher literally taught less than 1/10th of the material on there). I don’t think you even have to submit Math I if you took Math II, but I could be wrong.
