U. Virginia

Cornell

Any recommendations on what i should do to strengthen any part of my resume will be much appreciated.

Also, any colleges that would be a good match for me and are strong in Biochemistry?

Thanks!

Oh, forgot to add that a friend and I started a band that’s doing rather well. Self taught guitar player, been playing for two years.

Your weighted GPA is a red flag of grade inflation, does your school weight Honors classes? Your course load is not all too difficult, but your ECs are great. Try to bring up the Reading and Math SAT score to atleast 750. SAT II’s are a little on the downside, try to bring up the Math II and Biology. This is just my opinion from looking at how others got into college.

It actually does weigh honors classes, yeah. Thanks for the input mjain275. Since our school goes by the semester policy, it’s pretty much impossible to take more than three AP class for junior and senior year (due to the other requirements we have to meet like English and Social Studies),

I’m going to retake the SAT’s so i’ll try to bring up the writing and math to alteast over 700. Same with math II

Thanks again

Shameless self-bump

what state do you live in now?

i dont know about the other colleges, but I am pretty sure its going to be very difficult to get into Stanford with those stats.

Welles10, I live in Frederick, Maryland. Why?

Thanks Hershey101. A couple of the colleges on there are just shots at the moon, just hoping to get in, you know? That way i wouldn’t wonder what would have/could have happened.

Sigh…another self-bump

Your only chance at UPenn would be Early Decision. I would apply ED to Penn and RD to Hopkins.

Thank you. That’s exactly what i was thinking of doing :D

You def need to work on your test scores. All your ec’s are flimsy. Especially if you’re an Asian indian from MARYLAND (just as competitive as NY in many cases)…it’s gonna be tough. Your bio and math scores are ouches (along with ur sat scores) You don’t stand out from the crowd just by glancing at your resume. You need to show that something you have makes you different from others (do you have a passion for something and have you taken it incredibly far. e.g., you’re a ld debate whiz and you not only become prez of your school club, but go on to win big accolades on the national level)

u need to consider some safeties. (e.g., Tulane, Penn state, Fordham, etc.)

ED to Johns Hopkins (stretch, you might not necessarily get in)

U. Penn (that’s a no)

Stanford (def a no)

U. Virginia (stretch)

Carnegie Mellon (stretch)

Cornell (stretch)

U. Chicago (bordering a no)

Berkley (stretch)

Princeton (def a no)

U. Maryland (yeah)

U. Pitt (yep)
