Unique idea for UChicago Essay (although I suppose many will be just as creative if not more)

yoooooooooooooo. SAT is solid for a school like Columbia. Rank 5 is something thats goonna look really good on your application. One thing I would suggest is you really research columbia and try to find out their values and in your supplements, make sure to be specific about how your background embodies those values. Grades are excellent so you wont have a problem with that. I dont think you will get denied. Defer possible.

Good luck!

You being Chinese and your AP Chinese score had me DYING :))

I’m just kidding- just don’t report the score and just report the ones you did well in.

Your accomplishments, scores, and GPA look GREAT for Columbia! Fingers crossed that students like you don’t end up applying to where I’m at because this is brilliant. What I would suggest, just for additional detail, is to expand on some obscure extracurriculars such as Law Club (which not a lot of high schools have) and really detail what you’ve done with that club. It sounds pretty interesting, so make sure to show that. Internships are another key thing to have and it’s great that you have it- it’ll show colleges that you are getting ready for professional careers and the real world.
