Chance for Columbia ED

Hi everyone! My greatest wishes are to get an Ivy education and to go to college in NYC, so I know Columbia is where I absolutely want to go.
It would be great if you could chance me, I will chance you back!

My school doesn’t offer class rank.
SAT: 2120 currently, but I’m retaking (CR: 740, M: 640, W: 740)

Classes: My school doesn’t offer APs and has a fixed course schedule, so I can’t pick any electives.

Freshman Year: Biology H, Geometry H, Am History I, Religious Studies, PE, Study Skills (Semester 1), Computers (Semester II), English H, Arabic I.

Sophomore Year: Chem H, Algebra II H, Am History II, Religious Studies, PE, Financial Planning (Semester 1), Public Speaking (Semester II), English H, Arabic II.

Junior Year: Physics H, Pre-Calc H, World History, Religious Studies, PE, International Business Firm (Semester 1), Career Planning (Semester II), English H, Arabic III.

ECs:

  • School Newspaper (9: Opinion Columnist, 10: Opinion Columnist, Staff, 11: Copy Editor, 12: Editor-in-Chief)
  • Future Business Leaders of America (Founding Member in 11, Secretary. 12: Vice President)
  • Mock Trial (9: County Champions, Regional Champions, State Finalists (Only freshman to have done so) 10: County Champions, Regional Champions, State Finalist, 11: Lead Defense Attorney, 12: TBA)
    -Volleyball (10-11: Setter and team medic)
  • Model UN/Model Congress (10=onwards): Been a delegate to many specialized and advanced committees. Won Outstanding in a senate committee at a big conference.
  • Science Olympiad (9-10): Placed 15 out of 60 at a regional competition.
  • Junior Statesmen of America (10-onwards) 10-11: Graduate of Summerschool at Georgetown. Elected moderator of my debate house, voted “Most Likely to Become the President of the USA” and “Most Likely to Solve the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict”)

Volunteering:

  • Tutor a special needs child weekly.
  • EMT at a first aid squad affiliated with an ivy league university. (about 270 hours so far, about 368 by the time I send in my application) I have certifications in HazMat handling, Incident Command Systems from FEMA, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Environmental Terrorism (CBRNE) from the US Army
    -Volunteer at various school events as well as with my religious center.

So in total, about 450 hours.

Jobs/Internships:

  • Tutor a special needs child twice a week.
  • Currently a research intern at a lab with a research grant at the state medical school.

You have a solid shot at Columbia ED, however, I suggest retaking the SAT to solidify your chances there. I wish you the best of luck.
