@IvyLeagueFreak7‌ Florida’s governor is Rick Scott. The junior senator is Marco Rubio. You might not want to make that mistake when asking for a letter of rec.

Whoops haha my bad right there. @235423‌

You have excellent grades and standardized test scores. The list of ECs looks quite good. The biggest plus you have going is the first generation status. This will put you in front of the line for most Ivy league schools.

However I strongly suggest to avoid getting a letter from Marco Rubio or Harvard alumni UNLESS THEY REALLY KNOW YOU WELL in a work environment. These types of nepotism letters rarely impress Adcoms and sometimes annoys them. You should let your accomplishments speak for themselves. Having a big-shot write a short letter because you are well-connected is somewhat meaningless.

Thanks for the advice @sgopal2‌. I think I’ll go with your advice!

I think your Extracurriculars and awards are very impressive and you definitely have many hooks. I would suggest that you retake your SAT since the average SAT for most of these schools is a bit higher and you don’t want to give them a “reason” to reject you. Chance me back?

Thanks for the chance @Hind2015‌. I’m debating right now whether I should retake the SAT or not. But thanks anyways!

Bumppppp

did you end up getting in?

I hope you are considering some matches and safeties as well, since all those schools are reaches for you!

I’m applying to Stanford & Columbia too, both are my reach schools. My scores are a little higher but my EC’s don’'t show as much leadership as you’res does (my stats: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1837466-stanford-mit-columbia-what-do-you-think.html#latest ). I’d say reach but smaller reach for you.
