Chance for Columbia, UPenn, UChicago =)

You have a very high chance of wherever you go, no doubt about it. Strong everything haha. I don’t have much advice to give you… Just make sure you write a unique essay to set you apart.

Thanks for chancing me! All your IBs are making me kind of dizzy :). Such a rigorous schedule will most certainly be appreciated by these super competitive colleges! I haven read all the other posts here so I apologize if I’m being repetitive, but I think you have a really good chance at Columbia, uchicago, dartmouth, brown, and Pomona. Like, I would be surprised if you didn’t get in! I don’t really know anything about Stanford, I’m from the east coast and no one gets into Stanford from here :P. And I’m pretty darn sure you’d get into upenn, though as you know huntsman is wicked competitive! Good luck!:)

Layerd210

I think you are a competitive applicant. I suggest you to add few more colleges such as Vanderbilt, Rice, Northwestern and Georgetown. I have seen many super stat Asians got rejected from the schools you listed.

Start your essays early. (Essays are really important for U Chicago.)

Reach: Penn, Columbia, Stanford, Chicago, Dartmouth, Brown
Good chances: UCB

Good luck to you!

Thanks for your feedback @20more!! I’m really afraid of being another stereotypical good Asian student. I know as a person I’m not really too stereotypical Asian but parts of my application look like it =(
Anything you would suggest I do to break out of that mold?

all i can say is: WOW! You have some fabulous ECs. At Columbia and Stanford you have about as good of a chance as anyone. Also, may I recommend applying to UNC for the Morehead-Cain scholarship. It’s the oldest and probably the most prestigious merit scholarship in the country, it’s a full ride, and UNC has a great journalism school. Just a thought :)

huntsman’s hard but you’ve got quite a shot. GOOD LUCK!!!

I think you have a great chance at where ever you want to apply! You have great academics and amazing ecs. I mean, you’re a CEO haha. I’d be careful with UChicago though, i know its a great school but i am definetly not applying to it! It has the highest suicide rate of all colleges! I dont want my roomate to kill themselves…itd be too traumatic haha.

can you chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1166050-please-chance-me-bc-northwestern-like.html</a></p>

UPenn - low reach
Columbia - low reach/reach
Stanford - reach
UChicago - high match
Dartmouth - low reach
Brown - low reach
UC Berkley - in
Pomona College - high match

Huntsman is an amazing program, but it’s of course a high reach.
Excellent stats, fellow IB victim  Very qualified candidate.

3 SAT 2’s are fine, no need for Lit.

Thanks for the chance, and good luck!

A lot of these schools recommend taking four years of science… I only have three and according to my planned senior schedule, I won’t have room for one. I guess I can take seven classes (but really don’t want to my senior year haha).
Will it hurt my chances!?!

im pretty sure your in everywhere!! holy crap those ec’s and sats are amazing
please chance me back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1166407-help-troubled-senior-please.html</a></p>

I would not bother with lit subject test, it is somewhat difficult. You’re rank, course load and scores make you a strong candidate for all of your schools. Based on my experience with friends who applied to these schools, you should be fine at all of them and could even go for something higher if you wanted. Good ec’s also. Good luck!

What do I need to get on the ACT to make it worthwhile sending?

honestly your scores are great and you have great EC’s. now it just really comes down to your essays - because they’re goign to make or break you at places like brown, stanford, chicago.

nevertheless, with such amazing stats, these are all schools you can easily get in! for early, just pick the school u want to attend the most. i know early at stanford has like a 5% increase in acceptance rate. chicago early is higher too.
best of luck to you.

EDIT // ACT, to send i would say 35+

chance me back please, of course my stats are subpar compared to yours!

Thank you for chancing me!

You definitely have great stats and a rigorous courseload. You’re an outstanding student. That being said, Ivies are always unpredictable. However, you’re a competitive applicant you’ll have a high chance at wherever you choose to apply. Focus on keeping your essays strong alongside good recs at this point because those are what will most likely determine your acceptance.

Wow, not only do you have great ECs but amazing scores to match! I think you should ED at either Stanford or Penn because they have better programs. Basically pick which coast you like best. =]

I’m still really stuck between choosing Stanford/UChicago, UPenn, Columbia for early…

U Penn will probably confer the best ED advantage which I believe you will be guaranteed into. But You’d prob. be fine for RD anyways. Probably ED to Hunstman would be a good bet. I see no reason you should apply early. You’d have enough options to choose from w/ RD.

I was thinking Stanford/UChicago just so I could have options in the spring, but I know that’s not a good way to reason things out. Aghh to scared to call in for AP scores.

yeah you have an excellent shot for all these schools. remember that these schools are very selective and so you gotta be pretty damn lucky even with your stellar performance in your grades, ecs, and sats. but i know that you will be able to get into at least one of them. best of luck!
chance me please !
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1170620-chance-me-these-colleges-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

I think you have a great shot anywhere, you should apply ED/EA to your definite top choice.

Your in all of them, honestly, in some areas I think your over qualified lol
Chance me back!
