Chance for Cornell! All opinions welcome!

<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>Disclaimer: I posted this a while ago in a non-college specific forum, but I'm eager to hear from a Cornell crowd now. I can only assume that no one here has seen this yet. </p>

<p>Anyways, thanks a ton for taking the time to help me out here! Cornell is the only Ivy League school that I'm applying to, and I'm curious as to how you guys think I'll fare. I'll start with some of my basic info:</p>

<p>Personal Info:
-Caucasian
-Middle class
-From Massachusetts
-I attend a very large and competitive Catholic high school with 1,000+ attendees.
-top 10%</p>

<p>I have a weighted, cumulative GPA of 3.99 (so close!)
-3.79 freshman year, 4.0 sophomore year, 4.25 junior year. Currently climbing in my senior year as well. </p>

<p>Current SAT is a 2110
SAT IIs: US History = 680, self studied if that makes a difference. Just took Math II (projected ~680) and Literature (definitely 750+)</p>

<p>Courses:
-Freshman year: no honors or APs, but this is to be expected for a student at my school.
-Sophomore year: 4 honors courses:
English II Honors (A-), Geometry Honors (A-), Greek I Honors (A), Chemistry Honors (B+ / only B). No APs, but once again that was to be expected.
-Junior Year: 3 Honors & 2 APs:
Algebra II Honors (A-), Greek II Honors (A-), Physics Honors (B / only B). English Lit/Comp AP (A- and 4), European History AP (A- and 4)
-Senior Year: 2 Honors & 4 APs:
Greek III Honors, Arabic I Honors. Calc AB AP, Econ AP (macro/micro), Government AP, English Lang/Comp AP.</p>

<p>Volunteer Work:
Over 200 hours through the following organizations:
-Massachusetts General Hospital
-South Shore Educational Collaborative
-Appalachian Institute</p>

<p>Work Experience:
-Massachusetts State House
-American Eagle
-Boston Municipal Court</p>

<p>Sports:
-JV Rower (9), Varsity Rower (10-12)
-Varsity Wrestler (9-10), Wrestling Manager (11-12)
-JV Track (11-12)</p>

<p>ECs:
-President and founder of Students for Bipartisanship; we have hosted speakers and events.
-President of the STAND Club for genocide awareness.
-Vice President of Community Club which engages in community service.
-Editor and Writer for my school's newspaper.
-Editor for my school's literary publication which deals with creative writing.
-Member of Young Americans, a political discussion group. Through this I've worked on several political campaigns.
-Member of the St. Louis Project, a small group which offers food to the needy in Boston Common once a week.
-Member of our local Key Society
-National Honor Society Member</p>

<p>Honors / Awards
-Selected to be a "Senior Mentor" (pretty selective)
-Underclassman award in Algebra, Upperclassman award in Euro History</p>

<p>I plan on majoring in International Relations at the CAS, and my counselor said that my essays were excellent. </p>

<p>CAS does not contain an International Relations major; perhaps you want to apply to ILR?</p>
