Chance for Cornell ED, Tufts, UPenn, etc

<p>Hey guys! I'm an Asian girl from Massachusetts and this whole college process is so stressful.. I'd love to know my chances for:</p>

<p>Cornell (Arts & Sciences) ED, UChicago EA, Tufts, Swarthmore, UPenn, Dartmouth
Safeties (tell me if you agree): Northeastern, UMass Amherst,</p>

<p>Could you also give me suggestions for some other colleges? Matches especially, please!</p>

<p>intended major: Biology, maybe Animal Science depending on school
GPA: 3.81 UW
class rank: n/a
SAT I: superscore 2350-R:750, 630 (I know, ugh) M:730, 800 W: 720, 800
SAT II: Bio-800, Math 2-800, Chem-760
AP: Bio-5, World History-4, Chem-5, BC Calc-5, US History-3 (blegh)
Senior Course Load: 3 APs (Physics B, Stats, Psychology), nothing else spectacular</p>

<p>Academic Honors:
AP Scholar with Distinction (11), National Merit Scholarship semifinalist (11), National Honors Society (11-12)</p>

<p>ECs:
-Varsity Indoor & Outdoor Track (9-12): Captain for both seasons, various awards, Middlesex League All Star (10-12), top 5 at Divisionals (11), top in league (11)
-volunteer at dog shelter (10-12): topic for my essay
-part-time job at bakery (9-12): cashier, speak in both English and Korean with customers
-Tufts vet camp (12): (officially called Adventures in Veterinary Medicine)
-clarinetist in school Wind Ensemble (9): was one of two freshmen to get into our school's highest level band, but quit in order to have better time management (would it be bad to include this since I quit?)
-shadowed veterinarian at animal hospital (11): got to see surgeries, etc
-volunteer with special needs students (10-12): in their classrooms (our school hosts a large organization that pulls in special needs students from 5 towns) and at their annual Special Olympics
-Track & Field camp (10-11)</p>

<p>Essay: Like I said, it's about my time at the dog shelter I volunteer at. I would say it's pretty solid and gets across my passion for what I do.</p>

<p>Recs: not particularly amazing, but I know they won't be bad. Considering sending an additional one from my track coach I've known since middle school.</p>

<p>Thanks guys! Let me know if there's any other info needed.</p>

<p>Your GPA is a little low, but not terrible. Everything else is really good. I’d say you’ll get in at Cornell ED.
Chicago, Penn, and Dartmouth are reaches.</p>

<p>'sup fellow Taxachussan!
Not looking too bad at all! You have the numbers, and most probably the ECs to end up at a school you’ll like. I’m wishing I had your stats for Cornell ED…</p>

<p>ANYWAYS:</p>

<p>Cornell (Arts & Sciences) ED: High match/low reach, I see this as a possibility!
UChicago EA: Reach (Unless you have a goofy personality that they like)
Tufts: Match
Swarthmore: Low reach
UPenn: Reach/low reach
Dartmouth: Reach/low reach
Northeastern: Low match/S (show <em>some</em> interest, or they’ll waitlist you…apply EA?)
UMass Amherst: Safety (little problems here)</p>

<p>Good luck with this all!
Chance back if you so feel like it?

<p>giantman- Wow a 3.8 is LOW, with all those ap’s LOL.
Anyway,I think you have a great shot. Your GPA is great and your SAT is ootw good.
However, no offence but you are asian so it might be harder for you than all others, so make sure your essay is stellar.</p>
