Oh i wanna do pre-med btw

Chances look great, just make sure to have 2 700+ subject test scores take math 2 and bring the SAT up to a 2150+ with a 700 or higher on both writing and Reading, math is already good enough.

oh, yea i’m aiming for 700+ on chem and math1
i’ll take math2 in october b/c i barely know any trig/calc.
btww where r u from shaheiruddin?

Math 1C has a harsh curve. One wrong answer and your score will drop from 800 to a 770/760.

I’d say you’d have a decent chance at these schools provided you bump your SATs to (at least) a 2100.

P.S: because you’re Pakistani, you fall under the Asian bracket where average stats are easily in the 75th Percentile.
Still, good luck!

hmmm yea the curve for math 1 is really harsh :/

Although the GPA/Class Rank look phenomenal, it may not pan out the same way in the eyes of an adcom…3.8 UW WITH upward trend gets you to 2/900+? Either your school has a lot of students who don’t try, or they practice some major grade inflation considering your scores aren’t up to par with that rank (I have roughly the same scores lol, but my rank isn’t that high). I would say grade DEFLATION if your class was half your size, but there’s no way out of 900+ students no one can have higher than a 3.8.
First generation will help you slightly, but you’re still Asian, unfortunately. Also, your ECs are pretty generic/stereotypical, so they will hurt you in the long run. Try an internship or founding a club, those always look good.
Anyways, as far as your schools are concerned, your chances are pretty slim, and I hate saying that because I’m usually not that harsh, but nothing really stands out; it’s pretty mundane and anticipated.
Best of luck, though! :)

Chance me back?

UW GPA looks good, but your SAT score’s a bit low. Try to go to a 2100-2200.

JHU can get pretty competitive and when you have stats like yours, it’s really a toss up.

However, I think your first-gen status will throw you over the curve.

I’d say 50-75% chance of admittance, given you bring up the SAT, get good SAT II’s, and maintain or even raise that UW GPA.

@ golfer
my school ranks my weighted GPA. my weighted is phenomenal. the only reason i’m at a 3.8 UW is because middle school honors classes f-ed me up. however, my AP, IB, and summer Dual Enrollment classes were really helpful to my weighted, hence my rank.

In that case, I rescind my comment. I was pretty surprised at first, but since that was all that you presented, I was forced to assume that it was true. Your chances have definitely gone up, but your ECs are still pretty generic, although the cancer research is very good. Scores need to come up, though.

With your test scores and ECs as bad as they are, the crapshoot aspect of premed programs is only intensified. Reaches across the board.

dam, i’m gonna try to improve my test scores and EC’s :/
