-UVA: EA
-Vanderbilt: RD
-UNC Chapel Hill: EA
-George Washington University: RD
-NC State Honors College: RD

I think test scores and GPA is great considering it’s one of the most competitive high schools in the state. Some good EC with wresting, but it’s nothing extraordinary.

Duke: low reach or high match
EVA: match
Vanderbilt: match
Sorry, don’t really know about the others

I think your background and work experience creates a vision of you as a person, not just statistics. Colleges like that. Duke you will probably get in, also because of pulling strings.

What you call “normal” is…? Sorry I’m confused by your GPA…
How many B’s have you received?

<a href=“How to Convert (Calculate) Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale – BigFuture”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;
That’s what I mean by “normal”.

My school uses a 7 point scale with no pluses or minuses, so on that scale I have received 3 B’s. I put the “normal” scale in there because I’m not sure whether my gpa will be converted to the “normal” scale when colleges are looking at my application. Also, those 3 B’s I mentioned were above 90%, so on the “normal” scale they would be A-'s.

@chinaislife‌ what exactly do you mean by my background? Thanks for the chance.

Id say that you are in a good standing for a strong chance at all of these schools:
Duke: reach(hard to get into no matter who you are but your connection may help a bit)
UVA: high match
Vanderbilt: Match
UNC: low match
others seem like safeties which is good. Id say that you have a good chance at Duke, your top school, but if not UVA/UNC will be lucky to get you.
Bump

If your aunt is really as ‘high up’ as you seem to suggest, you’re a sure bet at Duke. All elite schools make significant allowances for the relatives of their top administrators.

-Duke: ED (Also, my aunt is REALLY high up at Duke and could hopefully pull some strings)-Match I guess

<a href=“Cornell, UC Berk, CMU, UMich, Georgia Tech - #23 by rhandco - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>Cornell, UC Berk, CMU, UMich, Georgia Tech - #23 by rhandco - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums;

I’m not really familiar with the 7-point-scale, since my school system uses 4.5. But it looks like you’re off to a good start! And having an aunt in Duke doesn’t hurt either, lol.

Duke: low reach/high match
UVA: mid reach (only because I know girl who got in had like, 99% percentile SATs and APs, and killer ECs. But who knows)
Vanderbilt: mid reach (VU is becoming more lenient on minorities and harsher on whites now, I think)
UNC CH: high match. Try getting recruited if you do sports. It’s also easier for NC residents, so you’re in an advantageous spot.
GW: low match/safety
NCSU: low match/safety

Good luck! :)
