chance for duke?

<p>Hi. I am currently a junior in California. I seriously slacked off last year and practically gave up so my records aren't as hot as they should be (though they've gone up some) but please take a look :)</p>

<p>GPA:
9th semester 1 - 4.0
9th semester 2 - 3.8
10th semester 1 - 3.8
10th semester 2 - 3.1
11th semester 1 - 3.6</p>

<p>-AP Euro 2 (last year)
-currently taking 4 AP classes (Biology, Spanish Language, English Language, US History)
-will take 4 AP classes next year (US Gov, Calc BC, Spanish Literature, English Literature)</p>

<p>*taking psychology and sociology at a community college this summer</p>

<p>SAT 1:
-720 math, 670 writing, 620 verbal = 2010
-i took it again last saturday and i think i did much better. estimating about 2100</p>

<p>SAT 2:
-Korean 770
-planning to take biology and math2c in june</p>

<p>EC:
-couple church missions
-volunteer at nursing home for 1 year
-currently volunteering at preschool ministry at church (best thing ever!)
-girls tennis jv 2 years (hoping to make varsity for next year)
-swim jv 2 years (Most Improved award last year)
-piano CM testing up to advanced level
-flute first chair in band and orchestra
-worked at school cafetaria for 1 year
-worked as a private flute teacher for 1 year
-no clubs or awards :(</p>

<p>I don't think I've left out anything.
My top choice is Duke.
I'm also looking at UCSD, Rice, and Emory.
All opinions/advice are appreciated :) Thanks.</p>

<p>GPA looks a little low, and the predicted SAT score certainly isn't bad, but it isn't stellar. If you could get it up, I think it would help. If you do well grade-wise next year, I think you have an okay shot.
Good luck. :)</p>

<p>thank youuuu
does anyone else have any advice for me?</p>

<p>Downward GPA trend, average SAT score, no clubs/awards, currently not on any varsity sport team, no hook....</p>

<p>Advice: Stop being lazy!!! Be more realistic...</p>

<p>Duke - 1% chance
Emory - 10% chance
Rice - 10% chance
UCSD - maybe?</p>
