Hey guys I'm trying to figure out whether I should apply Ed binding to either Emory or upenn. I like Emory but if have a decent shot at penn I think I would rather apply Ed there.

I am a senior a one of the largest and best public schools in Ohio

Class rank 24/850
3.98 unweighted 4.7072 weighted
8ap's by the end of senior year which is a lot for my school. All honors/ap except for regular English junior and senior year
33 act 10 on writing
Will take sat II in bio and math
5's on all ap exams except for one 4 in us history

Extra curriculars.
Varsity debate for four years
Varsity mock trial 4 years (leadership position 12)
XC for four years ( training group captain senior year)
Tons of hours for volunteering at a hospital for four years
Fellow at the Obama campaign ( this was a leadership position I trained new members etc)
I also play trumpet.

Any advice on match schools would be appreciated as well.

Your scores and GPA are both fine for Penn. Your ECs are a little bit lacking in my opinion, but if you really want Penn, do ED. Apply to the school you would really want to go to rather than the one that gives you a better chance at admission. Good luck!

You have a good shot, but any school with an acceptance rate less than 10% is a crap shoot even for a student with perfect scores unless they have a hook.

You have a good shot but it’s all gonna be based on your essay and how you package your whole application. Market yourself like you never have before.

Well sent in the application sent in the application last night. My English teacher said that she had never seen a topic like mine for the common app or the supplement. It was “very unique” We will see!
