Chance for ED acceptance?

Hey! I'm planning on applying ED to CAS. I visited and fell in love instantly but now am afraid I will waste my ED on a school that wouldn't take me. My predicament is that if I apply to Penn, I probably won't get in, and end up at my 3rd or 4th choice. I have a higher chance of getting into my close 2nd choice if I apply ED, so I don't know what to do. Penn took 1 kid out of 30 that applied last year, but has an overall 13% acceptance rate from my school. There are 32 kids (I don't know whether ED or RD) applying this year.

GPA: 3.71 (UW), 4.45 (W)
ACT: 33, 34 Superscore (English 35, Reading 34, Math 34, Science 34)
SAT II: U.S. History (770); Math II (760)

AP Scores: 5's on U.S. History, World History, U.S Government, Human Geography, AB Calculus. 4 on English Language.

Senior Year Courses:
AP European History
AP Comparative Government
AP Psychology
Multi-Variable Calculus
AP English Literature
Advanced Level Anatomy & Physiology
Student Aiding for AP U.S. History

Extracurricular:
Operation Understanding DC, year-long cross-cultural diversity program that takes 24 black and Jewish juniors from the DC area. Highly selective acceptance process.
Membership President at Hebrew School
Paid Student Hebrew Tutor at Hebrew School
Paid Tutor for Aristotle Circle Peers
Volunteer Tutor at local middle school
Unpaid Intern for State Delegate's Campaign
Member of Key Club

Awards:
Certificate of Meritorious Award (Service Hours in Excess of 260)
AP Scholar with Distinction

Gender: Male
Ethnicity: White

My school is the #1 school in Maryland, has highly inflated grades, but colleges know of our school.

My main rec is from my AP U.S. History teacher from junior year who asked me to student aide in one of his classes to help kids who aren't understanding the material. He is also my AP Psych teacher this year.

I have an extra rec from my employer and teacher at Hebrew school who has seen me take on multiple leadership roles and be an active part of my community.

Intended Major: History/Secondary Education

Thank you so much! As November 1st is rapidly approaching, I want to make my decision soon.

Your stats look nice, do you know your ranking though? One deficit could e your lack of any MAJOR accomplishments, but if you angle your app and essays to focus on all the teaching experience you have, it should work in your favor bc penn loves passionate applicants. I’m applying ED as well and hopefully I’ll see you there!

Do you go to Churchill by the way? I live in DC, but I used to live in in MD–BCC would’ve been my home school and I know a bunch of kids @ Churchill!

You have fine stats…

Don’t pay too much attention to the numbers like acceptance rate/ number of applicants got into penn from your school etc.
Acceptance rates: 13%, 15% or 20%. They all look very competitive to me.

At this point the only thing you can do is to write a decent essay. If penn is really your #1 choice go for it…

BTW, based on the information I’ve read so far, CAS is not as competitive as other penn’s schools, specially wharton.

Good luck.

Yes, I do go to Churchill! And we do not rank anymore at Churchill, due to the problems of about 15 kids having the same stats for Valedictorian. Even though I have a slightly lower GPA, I am in the top 15-20% when it comes to course loads as well.
