Chance for Engineering CS please!

<p>I will be a senior next year (from Pennsylvania).</p>

<p>Unweighted GPA: 3.852
Weighted GPA 4.362
ACT: 35 C (34 W, 35 M, 34 R, 35 S)
SAT II: Math II (800), Physics (760)</p>

<p>Extra Curricular Activities:
-4 years marching band
-3 years robotics
-3 years debate club
-4 years rotary club
-Co-founded STEM club in school (hold an officer position)
-Led a team to creating a mobile application & website for it (500+ local users so far, trying to expand)
-Summer internship at technology company (doing programming for them)</p>

-Chemistry (5) B+
-Computer Science (5) A
-Calculus BC (5) A
-Physics C (both 5s) A
-Statistics (5) A
-Economics (taking senior year)

-National Honors Society
-National Latin Exam: Cum Laude
-Top 10 in collegiate hackathon
-Second place in another hackathon
-Won House App Contest for my district (a programming competition held by federal government)</p>

-Tutored math to high schoolers to help them advance past courses
-Tutoring Vedic math to 3rd graders
-Helped to organize a fundraiser which raised over 1000$
-Volunteer at local temple and religious events</p>

Your STATs look very competitive. If you are able to pay $55 K/year tuition and fees for OOS students then you have a great chance. If you are looking for financial aid, you are out of luck. You may be able to receive a few thousand for regents, but that is about the extend of aid you will get for the UC’s. I hope you have several other top schools on your list besides UCLA in your home state. Good Luck.</p>

Then IMHO you are making a big mistake thinking about a UC school. You can get the same large classes and lack of personal attention for much less in-state, with plenty left over to visit a beach during your summer vacations.</p>

<p>I know it’s expensive. There’s no harm in applying other than the application fee though.</p>
