Chance for GA tech, UCs, Stanford (I chance back)

Hi, I’m a junior from Ohio. If someone could chance me (safe, match, reach) I’d really appreciate it!

unweighted GPA: 3.999 or 3.998 (?)

ACT: just took it 2 weeks ago. I honestly think I got a 34/35/36. hopefully 36 hahaha.

SAT Subject tests: planning to take chemistry and math ii right after AP exams in may, and I expect to get in the 760 to 800 range

AP - taken/taking/planning to take: APUSH (4), AP Stats (5), AP English Lang, AP Chemistry, AP Music Theory, AP US Gov, AP Calc AB, AP Comp Sci, AP Physics 1, AP English Lit, AP European history

Senior year I am taking Calc 1151/1152 for OSU college credit. (course load will include 4 of above APs, Spanish, and Band. I will probably be a chem lab assistant for 1 period)

Extra stuff that I have done / am doing / plan to do:

  • FIRST Robotics Competition for 4 years, lead programmer for 2 years (I get a credit for this every year)
  • FIRST Robotics Competition Dean’s list nominee (only 2 people from each team are nominated, by the team mentors)
  • 4 years in Marching and Concert band, 3 year squad leader in Marching Band
  • 2 year member of National Honors Society
  • member of various small clubs (spanish, science, garden, key, etc)

Self studying for USNCO (if you have tips let me know)

Other - skipped 8th grade (I’m not sure if it’s relevant)

No job experience. I am planning to work part time once I turn 16.

I know it’s a lot but any help is definitely appreciated!

You’re definitely on the right track for all of those great schools. You didn’t mention this but if you get a chance, do a bunch of community service. That’ll be extremely helpful.

^ I’ve done at least 50+ hours, will probably have 75-100 by the time I’m applying. I’d love to do more but I don’t really have the time

Agreed with above posters, you are on the right track but no one can chance you on predicted scores. You have very good EC’s and a rigorous HS schedule.

Make sure you ask your parents how much they are willing to pay towards your college education. Since you have UCLA/UCB on your list, just be aware that out of state applicants no longer receive financial aid, so expect to pay $55K/year to attend. UC’s offer a few merit scholarships, but the amount would cover little of your expenses.

Have your parents run the Net Price Calculators on all your schools of interest.

Good Luck.

You can’t really be chanced until you have official scores. It’s good to expect great scores, but it’s the beginning of your junior year and likely you didn’t do as well as you expected. Not saying you didn’t study or am trying to devalue your efforts, but bare in mind that a 36 is extremely difficult to achieve, especially on your first test. Make sure to post back once you have finalized scores. Until then focus on doing well in school and studying for your exams, not hypotheticals.

Official scores: 36 composite. 36 in everything except for science, which was a 35.
