I think that's it . Please chance me for these colleges and I´ll chance you back. Your honest opinion please.

P.s- i´m white and non of my parents have been in universities at u.s.

Your ECs are very very good, and I commend you on that, and it seems like your grades are pretty solid as well. Your standardized tests are really low for these schools though, particularly Harvard. I would say that you really need to get both your SAT 1s and Subject Tests up a considerable amount in order to have a shot at these schools.

If you push your Subject Tests to upper 600s/700s, and your SATs to 2150+, I’d say these Cornell is still a mid reache for you, and Harvard a high reach. Either way, I wish you great luck and because you have outstanding ECs, they will definitely help overshadow your test scores if you’re not able to push them up much.

Tiao, these schools are not realistic for you. You would need to improve your SAT score by close to 500 points to really be in the running.

I suggest you look at a full range of schools instead of 2 ivies. There are many wonderful schools that would love to have representation from Portugal. Do you have a Fiske guide?

Can you tell what are those schools that want Portuguese students?? I know my sat is very bad but you can´t forget we do´t speak English in my country. It is not official language and not so many people speak it, Nowadays we learn it in school but how am I supposed to have the same results that Indian applicants or Americans??? it´s just unfair…

There are international applicants from throughout the world who have excellent SAT scores. If you have attributes that a school wants they will give some room on the CR score, but the typical student accepted at these schools would also have a mid to high 700s math score.

I think many LACs ranked in the 30-60 range would be appropriate for you. The are many good schools in that group. The only issue would be if you require financial aid.

Selo i need financial aid and lacs dont give it to international. Thats why i will apply just to big universities. But dont worry i will apply to other universities. However, can you give me some concret names??

@tiago : you can see my chance thread to see some LAC which are quite generous in giving out FA for international students. i’d be really glad if you can chance me too

And for the SAT, THOSE schoole don’t give a #$$@#$# about whether english is your native language or not. That’s not a good reason for not having a good SAT score. I myself don’t speak english but, thanks God and College Confidential, I could reach 680 in my CR and 700 in W. I’m not saying it’s good already-I even have some friends from People’s republic of China who can get 2300+ i their SAT. Their official language isn’t english either and guess what they do ??? They practice practice and practice. It’s not unfair, it’s entirely possible

And as for your ECs: they are amazing !!! Just a word of counsel, though: try to focus and highlight one Niche of your ECs!

Like everyone else has said, your ECs are amazing, but your SAT I and IIs are pretty low for the schools that you’re aiming for. I would still apply to Harvard and Cornell because your ECs are outstanding and I highly doubt that any other international student has anything close to your ECs. Kids from my school with around the same GPA, granted they take AP courses, with around a 2000 SAT score, and around 650 SAT IIs have gotten into Princeton. Don’t rule yourself out just yet. Apply and see what happens.
