You’re international, so that CR score is expected to be below Math. I would suggest getting a natural English speaker to proof-read your essay and other written parts of your application.

hi. i’ve been reading your criteria and you sound like the average asian.
playing the flute? high math marks? try to get some extracurriculars beyond those of a stereotypical asian applicant

Ranking: 1/20

I think you are pretty good.

^Haha. Ignore that.

Sorry but I think your school’s curriculum is too easy or grades are inflated. You have a 4.0GPA but you don’t take any advanced courses and you’re ranked 1st but in a class of just 20.

Plus your SAT is weak. Your Math and Writing are within the mid-50 range, but your CR is well below for Harvard.

Hey everyone! thanks for all the comments/advice. Actually my school does not provide any advanced courses. Only standard level courses are available. The Humanity Honor Program I join is somehow like a regular class, which every student study together.
And I see there’s also a problem with my GPA. I go to a non-US grading system school, if my grades are written in the system we use, they will not look good, after all, my school is kind of grade deflated. But if my grades are convert into US GPA system, it will look pretty good. Should I explain this in my application?

It seems like everyone agrees that I have weak SAT I scores. That’s probably something I can work harder on. And just another thing to note, my school and my family do not speak English, so I’m having a pretty difficult time studying for the SAT :(

I have a nearly similar profile :). Apply and who knows. I love your responsibility for your regular meals/dessert and everything in your family. And believe me, no school rejects you because you have high Math SAT I. Haha. However, why dont you retake SAT for a higher verbal score :D?

Harvard is not the only school…Take a chance in applying for still others … You never know how it works out to be ! …
Better to take chances than not to … and later brood about it …
