You seem to be competitive for the honors program. Decisions are supposed to come out this week- good luck!

just got my letter welcoming me to the honors college today.

SAT: CR 800, M 770
ACT: 35
GPA: 97
7 AP’s
NHS President
3 Varsity Sports
lots of other EC’s
decent letters and essay.

presjohn - Congrats. This was the most selective class in Honors College history, I believe. Your application ran a pretty impressive gauntlet!

Chris

That’s ridiculous presjohn, very impressed man. Is SBU honors your first choice?

Congratulations again! Still waiting for a letter…do they send a letter saying if you got rejected?

Also accepted.
SAT: 800CR/730M/800W
GPA: 99.94 W, 96.37 UW
Newspaper editor-in-chief, NHS secretary, ski club secretary, marching band section leader, wind ensemble principal clarinet, +various other ECs.
Essay on my experiences at the Harvard Summer School Secondary School Program. Recs that I saw were great.

Holy crap raychacha is this your top choice??? Your stats are incredible! Haha wow well congratulations man, you definitely deserve to be accepted

Columbia’s my top choice (I think I saw you on their forum, did you apply too?), but Stony Brook is definitely going to be a consideration when the inevitable rejection comes on Thursday. I’ll actually be at Stony Brook on Thursday, oddly enough, haha. Hopefully I love it!

Yeah I also applied but if you have an inevitable rejection then I’m done for haha. I’m sure you’ll do great where ever you go. Are you touring SBU on Thurs?

@premed your 560 is REALLY low. If your scores were more balanced I’d say you have a better chance. Then again, I read this article in Newsday talking about specifically how at SB they use very holistic admissions policies so I guess it’s a possibility since everything else seems really strong.

@sunday: Yeah, although it’s unofficial. My friend is showing me around.
