So I honestly don't know anything about what my chances are, but I am really interested in both the school and honors program. Also, I'm out of state.

GPA: 4.0 (All A's) as a full IB diploma candidate
SAT: 2220 (750 CR, 750 W, 720 M)
EC: Music is my big one. I am involved in 4 choirs right now, am the student-conductor for my school's best/most selective choir, and have won some awards. I also do a ton of volunteer work at a hospital, and did Academic Governor's school over the summer.
Essays: I am really confident with all of my essays. My english teacher read them over/edited them and said that they "hit all the right notes" and would make me competitive for most schools.

Any responses?

Even out of state, you should definitely get into the school and I would think into honors, too. Your grades and scores are phenomenal, congratulations.

Why UW?

In for sure for regular
Honors is very subjective and I know of people getting into Princeton and not UW honors
But you are a strong candidate and it will be up to the essays

Thanks. I am mostly applying because UW is strong in specific programs that I’m interested in. I also think another part of it is that I was having trouble finding schools and I found UW and it just seemed to “fit” me.

The more I read about it the more appealing it seems. The honors program is not something I expect to get into, it would make it more appealing as a college option and would make it easier for my parents to splurge for out of state at UW over any schools that are cheaper and better in terms of rankings
