I will be awarded the Academic Honors diploma also.

For my Junior and Senior year, I've been accepted into a college prep boarding school(Indiana Academy). All the classes are at least college level. Do you think this could increase my chances?

I've been ranked in the top ten through Fresh/Soph years. My GPA is 3.86.

Extracurriculars I've been involved with are:
Student Council, DECA(Got third in our District), French Club(Officer), Science Team, English Team(Captain), Pit Band(First Part), Pep Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band(First Part), Yearbook, Puppet Troupe, Spell Bowl, Relay For Life, National Honor Society, Creative Writing Club, PEERS(Abstinence education), Coach for JR. High Englis team, .

I will have around 200 hundred volunteer hours at a local food bank by the time I graduate. I also want to get involved with a humane society sometime this summer.

What do you think my chances are?

Wow that senior year schedule seems amazing! I wish I had classes like that. As far as your chances go, I would beef up your ec’s by finding an internship somewhere and doing something that you love. I would also drop some clubs that you are not really into so it looks like you are not just joining them for the app process. Good luck!

EDIT:
Also, is your GPA weighted or unweighted?

Sent from my iPhone using CC

How competitive is the boarding school, does it send many kids to ivies? Are you taking the most difficult courseload you can (not familiar with the difficulty of the courses you are taking). It’s also important to state your SAT/ACT score. Go through junior year first. b/c it’s the most important year and many things could happen.

I wanted to drop some clubs for that reason, but I was genuinely interested in each club. I will be losing DECA, all four bands, Yearbook, Puppet Troupe, Creative Writing, and PEERS with the school switch, so they will be greatly thinned out. I will probably add a few more once I get to the new school though. The GPA is on a 4.0 unweighted

The school admits 150 kids a year out of i think 800 that apply. I think it sent about 20 to Ivy League last year. I took the most difficult classes for Fresh and Soph years and like I said all the classes at the new school are at least college level.
