Parent went for undergrad and Law, donor but not significantly. Only hope is for legacy consideration, GPA is a weakness.

The above looks to be in range (which is not to say you’ll get in - probably 10k+ of Yale applicants this year have a comparable stats profile, and Yale will admit around 2k).

Did you apply SCEA? If not, the legacy hook will be less powerful, in my experience. Is Yale likely to consider your parent important for some reason beyond the donations?

Not a ton of evidence here that you’re a star even in your high school, let alone outside it, although you seem to be a strong performer who’d fit in perfectly well at Yale.

How strong is your high school? Do they send a lot of people to Yale and peer schools?

Any other hooks, e.g., race or geographic location?

As always, the written app and LoRs are very important - hope you spent a lot of time on the former, and have a good list of target and match schools.
