Also, I have a question. My first choice is Business and second choice is currently Civil Eng. I was thinking to myself that if I don’t get into McCombs, there’s no way im going to get into Cockrell so should I change my second choice to Economics?
& Which backup plan is better? UT Economics or A&M Business?

McCombs is not going to happen with those test scores. Definitely pick econ as your second choice. And I would pick econ at UT over A&M business.

yeah, those test scores are not doing you any favors. COLA will take you in a heartbeat, though.

@danfer91 do you think that I would get a good job as a financial analyst with a economics degree or would I have to choose some other career?

@SlimShadyLady do you think I would have a good chance if I pull a 30 on the ACT? Because I have been taking practice tests and im getting around a 29-30

A 30 would help your chances for McCombs but you would be far from a lock, it would at least be worth applying. You’d most likely get into Econ with a 30. How many hours have you taken at CC and which classes?

@danfer91 Ive done 21 hours of college credit. Composition and Rhetoric, American Government, British Literature, U.S. History

Change your backup to Economics. Economics at UT is still VERY amazing, and you can pair it with a Business Foundations Certificate from McCombs. Also, UT has a 5 year masters program for Econ students as well.

There are a lot of opportunities for you to do everything you could ever want with your Economics degree here at UT.
