Honestly? Not an amazing chance for the non stat hungry ones, but I don’t doubt that you’ll get in to one or two of them. SAT score are obviously stellar. Retaking a 2290 might raise some eyebrows tho. GPA is good (not quiet a 4.0 tho!), but your ECs are weak. You seem like the poster child of asian applicants(sorry if that’s mean :/), really high scores but mediocre to good everything else.
Id guess, based upon your ECs, that you want to go into pre med? Pre med at WUSTL and JHU are the most competitive majors to get into in the world, but I’m sure you know that.
The premed ECs you have are probably some of the most common ECs even for non premeds. The reasearch volunteering is awesome although if you didn’t do the reasearch it doesn’t look near as good;however, it is cool either way.
Overall, you know what you need to work on: courserigor, grades, and ECs. Awesome job so far!
P.S. You should refer me to your SAT prep course, I have about the same PSAT as you did as a sophomore, some time and a 2300 would be great.
Your EX’s are definitely not bad, they must aren’t at the top-20-ranked-college-in-the-nation level. I wouldn’t be surprised if you get in to a few of those.

@YoungShoppah THANKS FOR YOUR HONEST INPUT!! There’s not much I can do about my extracurriculars and stats at this point so I’ll accept these school as my reaches As for the SAT, I took a prep course for about half a year until i quit XD - take tons of practice tests - especially the released ones in the past - if you want, pm me and ill send you links to the ones I could find! remember practice makes nearly perfect
Great GPA, lack of EC’s could hold you back, but even then, they’re better than most tbh. 11 APs is great, but, 2290 on SAT did not really warrant a retake on the SAT. That shouldn’t hold you back though. Great scores on SAT II, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into Vandy, Notre, John and Washington U are mid reaches in my opinion. Btw, could you give me some of those links to the practice tests you found if I pm you?
your SATs and grades are within range for those schools. they are, as you know, difficult to get into but you certainly have a good shot. your ECs arent bad and shouldnt hold you back much. as long as your essays are strong, I think youre in good shape. Chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1749650-tufts-chances.html#latest will chance back for anyone else who chances me
@ImperialDeat Absolutely! Pm me and I’ll send you some!
WUSTL: Low Reach
JHU: Low Reach
Vanderbilt: High Match
Notre Dame: High Match
As a fellow Asian applying to WUSTL and JHU, I have to say the most important thing about your application will be conveying the fact that you’re not just another cookie-cutter Asian with high scores. Pre-Med is super hard to get into at WUSTL and JHU, but you’re definitely a good candidate. Your ECs are typical and though it’s good that they have a pre-med focus perhaps you need to show that you’re also a diverse and a multi-faceted individual. I’m not saying don’t be yourself, but show them that you are MORE.
JHU and Notre Dame will probably hold your essays in the most weight. As for WUSTL and Notre Dame, I think demonstrated interest will do you a lot of good. WUSTL isn’t that hyped up so yield is probably super important to them.
It’ll depend on your major, but get a science subject test in there! Your USH one is great, but also show that you’re going to be successful in your subject!
Best of luck!

Don’t retake the SAT, your score is already good enough and there’s no point in stressing out about tests any more. I think you’ll get into Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. Your ECs are pretty good but to be honest I think a lot of applicants to these schools will have ECs much better than yours. Your ECs just aren’t…memorable or outstanding. But I think you’re fine GPA looks good as well. If you have great recommendations and essays I think you’re solid. I think schools like Wake Forest would be good safeties for you. Though I hope you get into Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, or JHU. Best of luck to you.
Chance me back please?
