In my book, your stats are amazing because they are diverse-- you get these good grades and have serious commitment to several sports, a job, etc.

Maryland does give out a good amount of merit (IMO, if you think about others schools of their caliber and how much aide they give out but, IDK), but they’re funny about it. You’ll hear stories of kids with stats like yours who got waitlisted for spring. You can sift through the forums but don’t put a whole lot of stock in what you read. As they say, take everything (my post included) with a grain of salt.

You got into Honors and an LEP which means you have a chance (if you’re hunting for b/k, look up Jewel_08. Her son got it last year I think and her information is on point).

Have hope, though. I think that’s all you can really do.

Or you can stalk the forums until you hear about them sending merit money (that’s how I found out the decisions were up. LOL).

Old thread, but just throwing it out there: UMD doesn’t consider your SAT IIs for anything. Yours are great, but they won’t impact you either way. I talked to an admissions rep a few months back and he said they don’t even look at them if you send them in.
