If you did, thanks for the chance!

They’re both reaches for you, mid by my reckoning. Same boat as everyone else

Looking pretty good…3.82 is a little low but nothing to worry about given the rest of your academic and extracurricular credentials. I’d say MIT, Chicago, Princeton, and Stanford are low-mid reaches; Duke’s a high match/low reach; in for sure at GATech and UNC.

Given you’re an unhooked applicant low/mic reach is where you’ll peak chance-wise for the first four on your list and maybe even Duke.

Would being named Siemens Semifinalist be a hook, considering I am one of around 350 in the nation, and top 20% of those who submitted a paper for it?

Siemens Semifinalist is a big deal, so that is a major plus. Your ACT SCORE IS SO CLOSE TO PERFECT, but a 35 is spectacular. Your UW is pretty good, but a lot of these school are looking at above a 3.9. (if you had a 3.9, your chances could improve upwards of 10%) Your subject scores are also fantastic.

MIT-low reach
UChicago- high match
Stanford- reach (you need something extraordinary)
Princeton-reach (score based school, with leadership, looking for uniqueness)
Duke- high match (you should be fine here, but some programs are highly selective)
Georgia Tech- low match (you will easily get in)
UNC- they barely select out of state so low match (you will get in)

Wow Siemens SF! I’m almost in the midst of academic royalty. Fantastic job. Your ECs and awards are very nice. Obviously you’ve taken very rigorous courses throughout high school. Your GPA is low but I think that is overshadowed by your other activities.

MIT - Reach
Chicago - Low Reach
Stanford - Reach
Princeton - Reach (probably your toughest school due to GPA)
Duke - Low Reach
GT - Low Match
UNC - Match

Good luck! Chance me back?
