chance for MIT

I will be applying to MIT EA. It is by far my number one choice and even though I live in CA I have found time to visit a few times.

PLEASE also chance:
UPENN
Johns Hopkins(possibly BME)
Boston U
UC berkeley
UCSD
carnegie mellon
williams
amherst

Sat I: Cr: 730, M: 710, W: 740 (will probably take one more time in november to improve math)
Sat II: Bio-E: 800, taking US histroy and Math II
GPA: 4.00(uw), 4.3(w)
Ap: BIO-5
APES-5
World-5
US-2 (bad day, been studying a lot for the subject test so maybe a good score on that will make up for this shortcoming)

Taking: AP calc BC, AP Econ/gov, AP art history, Ap physics B, and AP comp sci or psych

Info:
Ethnicity: white
sex: male
school: super competitive large public(sends about 20 per year to ivies+stanford, and like 30 to berkeley

Hook: possible rowing recruit, mountaineering is pretty unique

EC's:
-rowing-all four years of high school, big time commitment(3+ hours, 5 days a week+regattas every weekend the whole school year), I will probably contact the coach at MIT and maybe a few other schools to try and get recruited

-NHS next year

-a couple of rowing awards
-will make usrowing scholastic honor roll before apps are due

chance PLEASE. post a link and I’ll chance back

bump(10 char)

Great Grades, good SAT, SAT II should be good, with rowing hook you should have good chances, but as you know MIT is reach for everyone. Nevertheless you are a top candidate:
UPENN - low reach
Johns Hopkins(possibly BME) -high match
Boston U - high match
UC berkeley - high match
UCSD - match
carnegie mellon - match
williams - high match

Chance Back?

Very good shot at Cal, MIT is always questionable…good odds for you, 50/50.

Thanks guys, How important are essays and recs
at MIT.

Bump(10 char)

I would say you probably would need a much higher SAT I in math for MIT, and even then it is still MIT and other than research you wont have much depth for science EC’s. I think you will probably get into the others other than JHU where you have still a good shot and UPENN is also tough. I don’t know much about Williams or Carnegie Melon though.

Please look at mine, thanks. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/748133-my-chances-caltech.html

I’d say you’re an excellent candidate…but that’s all I’m going to say :p.

Bizzzzzuuump

A few more would be great. Promise to chance back

Buuuuummmmpppp

Bump. IF you want a guaranteed chance, chance me and ill chance back

November SAT does not count for EA at MIT. The latest is in October

on their website it says they include november tests in early action.

Any more chances would be appreciated

Buuummmppppppp

JHU is an easy match. MIT is always a chance thing though, however your profile does match up with the kind of students that they regularly accept. Good Luck!

Thanks. thats what I was hoping to here. all I can do is hope for MIT

Bumpppppppppppppp
