Chance for Notre Dame?

Ok, so I REALLY REALLY want to attend the University of Notre Dame (along with thousands of others). So lets start off with the fact that I KNOW my chances are slim to none. Basically:

My SATs nowhere near their standards
-1260: 600 CR and 660 M...I did get a 740 on writing but apparently that counts for nothing =\
- I am ranked 11/238 in my class
-We don't get GPAs out of 4.0, but as of October 12th, 2007 I have a 95.27 unweighted and a 107.44 weighted
-The teacher writing my rec is my AP Stats and AP Calc BC teacher who is practically a genius so I'm hoping he has a way with words

My ECs are as follows:

Computer Club 9, 10, 11, 12 Secretary, President
Jazz Band 11 Member -Trumpeter
Key Club 9, 10, 11, 12 Member
Lighting Crew 10 Member
Marching Band 9, 10, 11 Member-Trumpeter
Mathletes 11, 12 Vice-President
Model Congress 10, 11 Member
National Honor Society 11, 12 Member
SADD 9, 10 Member
Service Club 9 Member
S.H.A.V.E (Intramural Volleyball)11, 12 Helper, Participant
Tri-M Music Honor Society 10, 11 Member
Varsity Volleyball 11, 12 Manager
World Culture Club 9, 10 Member

I was also selected from the rest of my grade to participate in the Boy's State of New York program which is highly prestigious (I believe only 1,000 from each state attend). I'm still debating on what to write my essay on but I'm a good writer so I just need to decide what to write about. Would it look better to be creative and choose a topic of my choice? Or should I write an essay based on Notre Dame's options?

Basically the only thing I'm worried about are my lower-than-standard SAT scores. So should I bother?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks pretty solid, EC & rank make up for SAT. I'm applying there too, look forward to seeing you if we both get in! fingers crossed

Apply to ND if you really want to attend and would regret not applying, but keep in mind that they are still a high reach, despite your EC's and GPA. A 1260 is very much below average for ND, so you'll need a pretty strong hook to be admitted.
Good luck =]

Thanks for the advice!
