The bottom 50% might kill you, although NYU has a lot of students that are accepted, so they can bury through that statistic in through the masses. The SAT is good, the GPA is fine. If you took a lot of AP’s, they might see that you challenged yourself. Your EC’s from the looks of it are not anything special.

Overall, I would say the one thing going for you is your SAT, but your GPA and EC’s are going to hurt you. I am applying to NYU ED too, so good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I was wondering if applying for FA will affect my chances in getting in?

^Not necessarily. Not applying for FA at a small liberal arts school would be considered a hook, however, at NYU a large percent of students pay sticker price. Even if you applied for FA, it wouldn’t matter since NYU, from the beginning, is pretty stingy about giving aid so you shouldn’t expect them to fund your education. Only the top students are given the large scholarships in the hopes that they will matriculate.

Let me put this as succinctly as possible: If your rank is unweighted, then you’re in luck, if your rank is weighted, well I wouldn’t be surprised if you got rejected. If I had to make a money bet, I would say LSP.

Ok thanks. Any other opinions on my current situation?

wait…bottom 50% with those stats?

Yeah…just like the post says I’m at the bottom, so what do you think?
