Would you recommend that I don't apply to business schools to increase my chances?
Please respond soon. Thanks!

Bump. Please respond.

your cumulative gpa is needed for a more accurate chancing. however, looking at what you have, your gpa and your sat’s are a tad low for stern. your ec’s are pretty typical, but that shouldn’t matter much. your 5 in ap calc ab is pretty impressive though. i’d say your chances aren’t that great. you’d have to really write your way in. most applicants stats are higher than yours. sorry =/

ed does help, but not too much.

Alright, thanks for the honesty.
The only thing I have going for me is that my school is extremely competitive and has a good relationship with NYU.

How about my other schools? Would you suggest that I not apply to business schools so I have a better chance of getting in?

if you really want to do business, then apply to business schools. however, going to a business school doesn’t guarantee you a job in business, it just gives you a better chance. i heard that math majors also tend to do pretty well in the business field. perhaps you can try applying for a math major @ NYU-CAS. this way you would be exposed to the oppportunity NY has to offer, as well as go to the university of choice.

depending on your essay/race… you may have a chance.

I’m brown, so the race factor is out.
I think my essay is really good as well as my supplements.

My only hope is that NYU knows my school is very difficult and has accepted a lot of students from my school that have below average GPAs and SATs for Stern. But, that still doesn’t help me, it just gives me false hope.

New SAT policy for NYU

Have you thought through what tests you can send NYU with their new policy? I don’t remember all of the details but you can even send AP tests instead of SAT’s. It might help you.

Yeah as far as the testing goes, I know you can submit 3 AP exams, and you don’t have to submit SAT, ACT, or SAT II scores. There are some other choices you can use, they have all the info in the SAT, AP and CLEP section of collegeboard.com for NYU.

you can submit 3 ap exams but i think two of them must be humanities and science.

Alright thanks. I already submitted my SAT scores and 2 APs. Does anyone else want to chance me?
