I'm planning on majoring in business and NYU Stern is currently my top choice. I go to Stuyvesant, one of the best public high schools in NYC, although the media has put us down a bit lately. I'm also applying ED II.

GPA: 90/100 (Low, I know... School doesn't weigh either)
SAT: 740M, 720R, 700W
SAT II: 780 Chem, 720 Physics, 800 Math II
AP: 4 Stat, 5 BC
Taking: AP Econ (Macro this term, Micro next), AP Physics C (Mechanics this term, Electromagnetism next), Multivariate Calculus this term, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra next term.

My school has an AP policy that limits the number of AP's you can register for, based on GPA. The maximum is 4 AP's, and that's assuming you have a 95+ GPA and get in (AP Classes are given in a lottery manner, there are lots of students that sign up for multiple AP's a year and graduate without getting into any).

I have two recs, one from my Global teacher and the other from my AP Calc AB teacher (I took the AB class, but took the BC test instead), who also happens to be the assistant principal for mathematics.

ECs:
-Rowing Club (10-12, certified coxswain)
-Food club (11-12, treasurer and one of the co-founders)
-S!NG (Student-produced theatrical performance, props, 11-12)
-Filmmaking club (11-12)
-Photo Club (12, film only)
-Volunteered at a summer camp (Summer from 9-10)
-Volunteered at local church (Summer 11-12)
-Worked for parent's business, although sporadically, so I can't really give a time frame for this.

Special circumstances:
-My parents and I are all immigrants from China.
-Family of 6, parents make under 30k a year and are self-employed.
-Both parents never finished college.
-Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and died in the same year. (11)

I'm mainly concerned about my low GPA, which will probably drop because the teachers for Multi/Diff/LinAlgebra (Same teacher) and Physics are ridiculously hard...

I'm also applying to these schools for RD, although my priority here is NYU!
-Carnegie Mellon
-Emory
-UChicago
-University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
-UMich
-McGill
-UCLA/Berkeley

Chance me and I'll (try) to chance back!
