Chance for OOS (Will Chance Back)

Applied early action. Although there are only six days left the wait is killing me, so maybe this will kill some time.

Stats:

Other stuff is typical:

Spanish Club

Essay's: The short one was a little risky and the long one was cliche at times, but really well written. Overall I liked them.

Teacher Recs (if you saw them): Did not see them but can guess they were about average.
Counselor Rec (if you saw them): Pretty good; she has gotten people admitted to UNC before.

Hook (TASP, RSI, Research, etc.): Male not applying for any financial aid? I'm hoping in this economic situation of decreasing endowments not applying for aid might help me since I'm a little borderline.

Also UNC loves my school since we are a well known rigorous private school; 7 of the 11 who applied (all OOS) were admitted last year

I really want to get in EA because UNC is not only one of my top choices, but I can really see myself at Chapel Hill next year.

Thanks and leave a link if you want to be chanced back!

I think you have a solid chance. Your unweighted GPA might be a little low, but your weighted GPA and SAT’s look within range. Pretty sure UNC doesn’t care about whether you are applying for aid. Debate EC’s look unique.

Either way, I think you have a really good shot, but I wouldn’t be that surprised if you were deferred.

In I think, but I’m not an expert by any means. Test scores/GPA a little low, lacking diversity in ECs. EA probably helps, so good luck!

you have a good chance. SATs are a little low but still within range for OOS. ECs are good. I would say you have about an even chance or more. Being OOS is just hard. I am also applying EA OOS and am also anxious. Good Luck!
