HOOKS:

I am of Hispanic descent.

I will not be applying for financial aid. As a public institution, I'm assuming they will want to have more students that are able to pay full tuition from out-of-state.

If you were in state, you’d probably have a lot better shot, but even if that were the case, your GPA would still be pretty low. SAT isn’t terrible.

A lot of the kids who apply have ECs out the wazoo (and good ones, for that matter), I firmly believe in quality over quantity (and I’m sure to an extent UF does too) but other than Varsity Swim and maybe the President position, they aren’t very strong.

How many AP courses does your school offer? If you only took three, and twelve are offered, it will probably look weak. What did you score on the exams? What’s your senior year schedule like?

Also, something you might want to know, UF doesn’t read recommendation letters.

I think you’d be a pretty high reach.

Because of your GPA (UF takes mostly 4.0 + GPA’s) and being out of state - it will be a reach school. UF only takes about 3% OOS.

Alright, I’ll pass on UF. I have plenty of other reach schools. Thanks for the information.
