I think you’re good for USC with your GPA and SAT. I don’t know much about Pomona other than the fact that it’s it’s a liberal arts. UChicago is of course a stretch for almost everyone. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1261160-please-chance-me.html</a> :)

Thanks!

Anyone know much about Pomona?

Pomona is just about as tough as UChicago. Both places are a reach I’d say. Apply early to increase your chances?

For Pomona and U Chicago essays will be important and you EC’s are good but a little commonplace being music. Try to think how you could contribute to the campuses and show that in your essays. Your academics really look great and strong, but I think these schools tend to look for something a little bit extra - Somewhere someone shared an article where the difference was described as as analogous to being a good technical musician vs being more artistic in your playing. These schools are looking for you to show something beyond academic accomplishment. For Pomona visiting and interviewing makes a fairly big difference. Stand out.
