<p>I have no idea what Northwestern stats should be like, or if I have a chance.</p>

<p>My UW GPA is pretty low, like a 3.71 or something.</p>

<p>Pfft, you’ll get in. Your chances are pretty high, at least. It’s never a sure thing at a place like NU, but:</p>

<ol>
<li><p>Your class rank is excellent, so even though your GPA may not be stellar, the rank says a lot.</p></li>
<li><p>Messing up your freshman year isn’t a big deal. Besides, at least you’re showing an upward trend! If you’re extremely worried, you could always apply to Princeton! I’ve read that Princeton re-calculates your GPA when they receive your transcript and completely take out your freshman classes :wink: Problem solved.</p></li>
<li><p>Everything else about your app is super strong. ECs, SATs, etc. sound good. </p></li>
</ol>

<p>Stop worrying, being “chanced,” etc.! Try to enjoy yourself. One thing that DEFINITELY won’t improve your chances in being neurotic on CC. Have fun for the rest of high school. I really wish I’d had fun instead of worrying incessantly.</p>

<p>I agree with TakeItDownElizab. (and TakeItDown, you should should just keep reposting this throughout the coming application year to the fabulous applicants who keep asking for chances.) You look stellar and you will present a very nice package to NU and any other schools you apply to. (I’m a parent, btw.) Spend your time writing great essays, maintaining good grades. Don’t add ECs. Don’t fret about freshman year.</p>
