Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Only thing that makes me not a "cookie-cutter" Asian is that I have coped with and still struggle with a disability. It's an extremely rare form of muscular dystrophy that even still I have no formal diagnosis. In short, every muscle in my body is weak, and that especially compromises my respiratory and cardiac function. It has been relatively stable, but the middle of junior year, my condition started to deteriorate, and left me out of school and in the hospital for a while. This unfortunately compromised some of my grades (I got one B (84)), and somewhat wrecked my GPA. Other than that, yep I am pretty typical, but would this be a good idea to write my essay about?</p>
