Chance for Princeton, Notre Dame, others

Well, here are my stats. I'm a white, male senior from NY by the way.

SAT: 750 reading, 760 math, 790 writing, 2300 total.
GPA: 97.43/100 (did bad in Art and two freshmen classes)
Rank: 13/403, competitive Catholic high-school
AP (all self-study, school does not offer classes): Biology (5), European History (5), Chemistry (3)
SAT II: Math II (770), Chemistry (750), Biology M (740)
Senior Classes: Advanced Calculus, Advanced Latin V, Religion, American History, English, Physics, Band takes up my study hall. Other than math and language, my school has no advanced classes. It stinks...

ECs:
Boy Scouts: Eagle Scout (pending application, project completed), Senior Patrol Leader for a year, way more community service than I can list
Band: Bassoon, not that great, learned during freshmen year
Science Olympiad: "Varsity" team past three years, current Vice President
Math Team: no awards (we do not really practice)
PF Team: Used to be good, then... Long story short, my roommates at a national tournament vandalized a hotel room, my coach hates me because he thinks I was involved, and my partner stopped caring. It's a miracle that I am still on the team. Luckily, no one will know about this fiasco...
National Honor Society

Awards:
Eagle Scout (pending)
National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist
Notre Dame Leadership Seminar
Some Local Awards

Essays and Recs: Don't ask. I write well though, should be good.

Hooks: Ummmm... my sister goes to Princeton and my cousin went to Columbia. Does that count as legacy? My father went to Villanova.

Reach: Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia
Match: Notre Dame (early), Duke (according to counselor), Northwestern (again, according to counselor)
Safety: Villanova (early), Northeastern (early)

Thoughts, comments, concerns??

Hmm… I would say a medium-low shot at reach schools, IMHO. Your numbers are good, but I don’t see anything on your application that makes you stand out from the other smart, motivated kids that apply.

There doesn’t seem to be much on your app that really makes you stand out, other than your sister attending princeton. nonetheless, your hard scores are strong, and might put you in if you write a good app. are your recs good or no?

My school does not let me see my recs, but one is from my history teacher I had twice, so I know that’s good.

I think that you have a good shot at all your matches and some shot at your reach. The PF thing sucks (I am a huge Speech and Debater so I know how much trouble it can be wen the partner has issues). I think you have good stats

low reaches on most. Your safties are definate safties

you have a good shot, but know that there are so many great students like you applying to a place like Princeton. its a crapshoot there imo.

@ApaPlata2012 Yeah, my partner would write cases the night before a tournament; the last one had some foul language in it too. I tried LD for a little bit last year, but hated it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I’ll chance back if I can.
