This is a state-funded month-long program where I studied flight science at Appalachian State University for 4 weeks. I learned about the effects of air resistance and drag coefficient, as well as lift, thrust, and gravity, on the flight of a rocket in order to achieve maximum apogee and flight time. For my final product, I successfully designed a model rocket that achieved a maximum apogee of over 300 meters and a flight time of 26 seconds (this was completed through the use of a recovery system that deployed as predicted in test flights), as well as the composition of a paper that described the physics behind its construction and an in-depth analysis of the data

Numbers look good, ec’s look great. Just remember to focus your Why Penn essay on what you can contribute to PENN, not what benefit you would receive by going there. THe essays count more than grades or ACT.

I really feel like my Why Penn essay is really good and portrays my passion for Penn. Thanks for the advice! Anyone else?

Bump please!

Anyone? I’ll chance back if you’d like!

You’re looking really good for Penn’s RD! Your EC’s are strong, your grades and courses taken are phenomenal. Just make sure your essays are strong.

I noted that you included income in your information. I don’t think this should effect the decision at all.

Good luck!

Your scores and EC are pretty good, so you definitely have a chance.

I don’t think you can choose to not send your SAT scores - Penn requires you to submit all test scores ([Penn Admissions: Required Tests](http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/testing.php)). I wouldn’t worry though- there was a pretty significant difference between my SAT and ACT scores, but I got in.

Dang that’s not good haha I got a 2000 and 2160 respectively, not to mention I’ve taken the ACT three times (30, 32, 33).

Hopefully they’ll see upward trend?

Youre by no means a guarantee, but you have a shot, especially if youre school is well respected.

Like pennforme said, essays are key. I think mine are what put me in. good luck!

Yeah I feel like my school is pretty solid, and our val last year went to Penn so hopefully that helps a little. Thanks!

Anyone else?

I had a 1850 SAT (■■■) and a 32, 32, 33 ACT, and I got in. They choose your highest score, but they still do want all the scores. I would send them all.

nope. scores are too low

Yeah I sent in everything…2 SATs (2000 with 10 essay, 2160 with 12 Essay) and 2 Subject Tests (680 Bio (hopefully my 4 on the AP exam can negate this) and 760 Math II).

I know my scores aren’t ridiculous, but they’re nothing to reject me over, right?

I think your scores are a little below par, but great ECs! You definitely have a good chance. Chance me too please!
