Chance for Rensselaer Polytechnic?

So, RPI is one of my top schools. I was wondering if I had any chance for it? I heard it's a hard school to get into.

Me: Asian (Indian to be more specific) Female
Grade: Junior
Overall GPA: 3.49
APs: 2

I go to a college prep school, and all of my classes are taught at an honors level.

ACT: 24-27 (still haven't taken it yet, but I have taken some full length practice tests so this is an estimate)

Extracurriculars:
1. Soccer (freshman and sophomore)
2. Tennis (freshman year)
3. School play (sophomore year)
4. Model UN
5. Indian music

I've also been in several clubs. I've volunteered at Hemophilia of Indiana, the library, and my school. I'm also probably going to do some research in the summer.

Awards:
1.Two gold medals at ISSMA
2. One silver medal at ISSMA
3. Best Delegation and Verbal Recognition at Model UN
4. RPI Medal (TBD)

Please no negative comments, but healthy criticism is welcome.

I hope your 27 materializes…

My son is graduating from RPI this year. His GPA was about the same as yours, and he had SAT scores in the 600+ range for each category. He had someone in admissions give him a shot. It can definitely happen, but they do look at scores for sure. The SAT scores almost kept him out, and that was four years ago. I know it is worse now. That being said, he struggled a bit, but he had a lot of support and made it. You can too! Good luck to you!

Thanks! Do you know what exactly made them admit your son? Was it extracurriculars?
