Essays :
My teachers loved it and so did one of my cousins who went to Harvard.

Recs:
Pretty good i guess

I want an honest answer people. What are my chances?

Im really scared bout my writing score i am thinking of taking the SATs again..... wanted your opinion on that too.

I sent in my PLME ED app on the 1st

Bump!!!

I’ve read on CC that many colleges don’t even look at the writing score. My son’s was not very good either, and he was accepted at some of the schools you mention.

He’s an URM, however, and I’ve read here that Asians are ORM (Over Represented Minorities,) and that might make it much harder for you, especially if you’re an international student; international asian students I believe are almost expected to be WOWs (Walk on Water,) especially if they are going to require financial aid.

Thank You!! Lets see what happens!

Bump!!!

bump!!!

Bump!!!

Hi.
Whatever I say, I am saying my true and honest opinion:
“I’m an International student from South Asia”
Weakens your APP

My Stats:
SAT1 - October 2010
CR - 780 99%
M - 740 97%
W-620 84%
-Automatic Rejection right here. sorry.

SAT2
Math 2 - 730
Chemistry - 800
Biology M - 790
-Great scores, but they are bogged by that SAT

ECs
-PLME doesn’t care for ANY of your ECs

Social Service

Medical:
Plenty of Volunteer Work in hospitals and with Doctors

 • You and the other 100,000 Asians applying for BS/MDs

Medical awareness camps
-See above comment
Blood bank
-Above
Special Coaching for med school in my country
-haha

Sports:
PLME doesn’t care

Essays :
Really depends.

Recs:
“i guess”? not enough for PLME

Diagnosis: A higher SAT score may help you, but a complete lack of ECs really puts you in a bad position.

^That SAT score is definitely not an automatic rejection.

@ravi - first of all i think its illegal to see your recs and see if u like them … ive tried to be honest … and complete lack of EC’s?? … I think i listed out a lot of them… the ones that matter to me … i have more if u think i need to put those too like math club and electronics club … so should i? … another think is that the PLME gets around 2000 apps not 100,000 … Fyi there are 350,000 people living in the USA today and i dont think that 1/3rd of them would be applying to the BSMDs in my year … Please help me with some constructive criticism and not laugh at me

@BSMD11 - U think so? i feel thats the weakest part of my app … :frowning: … Could u chance me on the whole? thank you

*thing is that

*350,000,000 i ment and 1/30th

first of all i think its illegal to see your recs and see if u like them

 • I know, that is why this is very subjective.

I think i listed out a lot of them… the ones that matter to me

 • Just trying to help.

I’m sorry, as I said, I was trying to give you something you could use. I think you have a fair shot at some of the lower IVYs, but PLME, for you, would be trying to find you(a grain of sand) hidden somewhere on the world’s beaches.

^Actually, it is legal to see your recs, as long as you check the box (on most apps) saying that you do not waive your right to not look at the recs. Maybe you should read the info in the app before you sign :)

:):):):):):):):)

Why the happiness? Did you get in?

He got deferred…So I’m not really sure why he’s happy. I guess it’s better than rejection? OP has little chances, since their ECs are so commonplace and SATs pretty much suck. Still, OP has also proven that they won’t listen to chances even when they ask for “honest chances, people”…some people will never change…

Did you get into Brown, OP?

Yes i got deferred and im happy since i was written off as a sure rejection by Mr Chemwz … Though i dont know what happened to him for ED. the Happiness was for that comment above because i was really scared about my SAT writing score but i didnt get automatically rejected!
@chemwz - i know you have something against me man. I know that you think that i suck i should say thank you for that too right? So thanks a ton and thanks for all the comments on my threads but keep your lovely opinions to your self in the future. I would prefer if you would let others have their own say and not answer questions directed to me
