Also, any chance of getting the Engineering Scholarship (anywhere from minimum amount to the full tuition) or any other merit scholarship or aid if I get in? Thanks!!

I don’t think any of us here really understands how merit awards are assigned. I just think Rice just wants to build a great class. It sounds like you’ve lined up strong recs, wrote a solid common app essay, and have held leadership positions – sounds good. Good luck.

bumpppppppppp

bumpppppppppppp

There’s no way to predict your admissions decision. Rice looks at applications as a whole; no one factor will guarantee you admission. From what you just wrote about yourself, you seem to think that you will be very competitive in the applicant pool. If you’re interested in Rice, definitely apply! There’s just no way to predict a decision because, as Ottoline said, Rice is looking to build a class, not admit individual applicants, if that makes any sense.

No question, the application and waiting process can be pretty stressful! Here’s a humorous youtube skit about a Rice student facing deadlines. It also gives you a good sense of the campus … [Deadline - YouTube](<a href=“Deadline - YouTube”>Deadline - YouTube)

bumppppppppp

Bumping this post endlessly will not change the answer. None of us work for the admission department and thus cannot give you a good answer.

You should apply. That is the only way to get in.

I’d say you have a pretty good chance, but there’s no way to give a definite answer. and lol at getting a 560 Math I but being an AMC school winner?

Yeah I don’t know what happened in that Math I exam lol. at least my math ii is good

Just don’t apply ED. It might hurt the rest of us!
