The other colleges I was looking at were: Hampshire, Occidental, Marlboro, Pitzer (big reach, I know), Hendrix, Warren Wilson, SVA, UNF (Safety), Cooper Union.

Any colleges I should look at? Financial aid is a big must-have, also looking for a Photography (or some kind of digital imaging) major.

bump, although I'm not sure what the "bump" rules are here.. if there are any.

I looked at your photography, and some of the shots are absolutely incredible!

Aww, thanks!

You seem to have a really similar situation to mine? I love photography as well, its a great passion of mine. I think maybe you should look into art schools, as they look at applicants in a different light.

we sort of have the same stats. I was recently accepted as an advertising photography major at RIT. I was also looking at cooper, but I personally didn't like it--it's not good for being a "photo major." At cooper, they're very into the "well-rounded art curriculum," which basically means you do everything...painting, drawing, sculpture, etc. I personally didn't like their set-up. I would say you have great chances at RIT because they really look for ambition and passion for photography, which is really shown through your ecs. Unfortunately, they don't look at your portfolio for freshman admission.

Thats great, then! I know that passion like that doesn't just disappear, so I'm sure it will shine in your later grades as well.

alexandrafitzmor:
thanks, I've actually been trying to stray away from art schools due to the money and lack of job opportunities. :[

alex.g.lucks:
Wow, that makes me feel a bit better. Yeah, cooper union was a last minute find, never really attached to it, and I'm definitely only a photographer (not a painter, drawer, sculptor). Really? I had heard you can send it, but it's not required, no?

Oh, just remembered, I'm also photo editor of my yearbook. (how could I forget? ahaha)

Ah, I see. I am also not an art school type, so maybe we should somewhat shadow each other on CC to see how this works out?

sure, sounds like a plan!
