<p>Please chance me for the RSI summer research program at MIT. Also, if anyone knows when the app comes out please let me know.</p>
<p>PSAT: 220
One AP taken, got a 4
Transcript: All As, some A+s; very good course rigor
Engineering Innovation at Johns Hopkins
Multiple leadership Positions
Quiz Bowl/Science Bowl Team
Will write excellent essays because I am passionate about using research to solve environmental issues.
Know Javascript, HTML/CSS, in the middle of building my own blogging website</p>
<p>Do I have any chance at all without ISEF/Google Science Fair/Olympiad/SAT Subject scores ??
I will not be taking Math and Chem. SAT Subject tests until June, and I think this is too late for the app.
Also, I have a very good shot at qualifying for AIME and the Chemistry regional section for USChO.</p>
<p>Thanks! If anyone has tips on how to become more impressive, please let me know.</p>
<p>There is almost no way to chance you. RSI accepts students ranging from IMO gold medal winners or people who have never heard of Olympiads or research before. The inner machinations of RSI ad-coms are an enigma. They look for passion, which a quality I find impossible to see without essays and an interview. Best of luck!</p>
<p>If your asking if you are competitive, I would say somewhat. Even though RSI accepts students without prior Olympiads or research, I’m pretty sure they had something stellar to offer. </p>
<p>I was kidding, chromodynamics. But please note:
-CEE doesn’t consider HTML or CSS to be real programming
-Anything from Johns Hopkins is instantly ignored because it’s where rich people send their dumb kids to get certificates
-Pretty much all of the RSI of last year are heavily into scientific research
-define good course rigor. Honors Algebra II sophomore year isn’t rigorous
-doing any of the USA*Os will help you massively. </p>
<p>alright thank puportedlay. Although 99% of the people in my hopkins class were very smart, and it was extremely rigorous. I too, am very smart, to be blunt, but I realize now that RSI is not for me. I do not want to spend the last summer I have at home with my family doing research. I have the rest of my life to do that.</p>
