Chance For Son ??

Son (WM from MA) very interested in applying to Trinity this Fall. He has a 700M,600CR,540W -- public school doesn't rank but top 25-30%; about a 4.7 GPA on a 6.0 scale, having taken the majority of his classes at the advanced level -- he will take 3 APs this year. He is on a varsity sport and is president of a language club, along with a few other ec's, and has worked the past two summers. Will not be applying for f.a., but not sure if that even matters.

What are your houghts on his chance of admission and do you think he'd have a better shot going ED? Thanks.

Sports definitely help there, though the 540 on writing isn't too stellar. Can he counterbalance that with strong grades in writing-intensive courses? And no finaid absolutely matters there since they aren't as generous as some of their peers, so they like students who can pay their own way.

As an actual Trinity student, I'm happy to inform you that Trinity's application process is need-blind. That means that your interest in applying for financial aid does not affect your admission decision.

Furthermore, as a recipient of $40,000 in grant money, I can tell you that Trinity's financial aid program is fantastic. Misnomers may be a product of the fact that the average student is fairly wealthy.

I think your son has a great chance of getting in. I do suggest trying to raise that Writing score though. That might imply waiting a bit before sending in an application/scores. Hopefully a higher score paired with a strong essay and a smooth interview will mean good things for your son.

Best of luck!

how is computer science at trinity..?
i am an international student n trinity seems to give a lot of financial aid.

could someone help me please?

thanks
