Chance for Stanford

I know that realistically I don't have that great of a shot of getting into Stanford, but I just want to see how much of a dream it is.

SAT I Math: 700
SAT I Reading: 730
SAT I Writing: 630 (Ouch. I hurts to write this. They just hate my essays for whatever reason
SAT II US History: 790
SAT II Physics: 740 (Retook today)
SAT II Math II: 690 (Retook today)

ACT: 34
Math: 34
English: 34
Reading: 35
Science: 34 (highest is 36)

AP:
Euro: 4
Chem: 3 (I only took honors chem and self studied for this one, but I know that it's still pretty bad)
US History: 5
Physics B: 5
Calculus AB: 5
English Lang: 5
(I'm taking 6 more tests at the end of the year)

EC:
Cross Country for 4 years, Varsity
Track and Field for 4 years, Varsity
CSF for 4 year
Top scorer in my school for Academic Decathlon
Editor-in-chief for my school's newspaper
Leader in a local tri-city community service group

My GPA is a 4.3 weighted and a 4.0 unweighted. I can't really have it any higher, as I took all but two AP classes in my school, and I literally didn't have the space to take those. I'm also #2 in my class, but I only have a lower GPA because my grades are watered down because I have more periods. My Sophomore/Junior year GPA is a 4.5. I currently am taking 5 AP's, an honors, and Journalism.

So, what are my chances? Thank you for your time!

send act instead of sat, thats for sure

What is your ethnicity?

Assuming you’re white or asian, Stanford will be a high reach. I’ve simply seen too many 2400/4.0 students rejected by that school. You have relatively weak ECs, and nothing that is spectacular on your application.

ur like one of those model students who get accepted into standford. perfect GPA, amazing test scores, high academic rigor, and all that. ur ECs are weak considering u didnt do any interns. if ur recommendations are strong and ur essays r stellar, ur in.

chance me?

Thanks for your time. I figured it would be a high reach. That’s why it’s my dream school. The school I more realistically think I can get into is Berkeley, but we’ll see.

Apply to more than one UC of course. If you write some good essays, UCLA and Cal are within your range.

^ What? That doesn’t even make sense.
No. As of now, all the UC’s are completely in your range (especially if you’re a california resident). It’s common knowledge that UC’s are more focused upon your hard stats (scores, GPA) than the subjective aspects of your application. And your hard stats are pretty much on point…
I would recommend not just applying to stanford, but other top tier schools as well.
good luck :]
